Exquisite Harfenklänge sind wir nun schon seit ca. zehn Jahren von Monika Stadler
gewohnt. Auch auf ihrer fünften CD besticht sie mit einem feinen Mix aus Jazz,
Klassik und Ethnomusik, wobei die Kompositionen diesmal besonders ausgereift und
subtil sind. Immer wieder geht die Harfenistin Klischees geschickt aus dem Weg;
flirrende, plätschernde oder in sich ruhende Melodien rufen vor allem
Naturassoziationen hervor, Indianisches, Skandinavisches oder Japanisches klingt
an, dazwischen finden sich Miniaturen mit eher reflektivem Charakter wie "Inside",
"Beginning" oder "Wohin?". Reinhard Ziegerhofer (b) und Franz Schmuck (perc)
waren schon öfter mit Stadler zu hören, dieses Mal kommen der Flötist Daniel
Tschida und Jon Sass an der Tuba dazu. Die Kombination Harfe/Tuba ist nicht nur
klanglich originell, sondern bringt auch eine locker-extrovertierte Note ins
Spiel. Die hervorragende Aufnahmequalität trägt zum positiven Gesamteindruck
noch zusätzlich bei.

For ten years, we've enjoyed the exquisite harp sounds of Monika Stadler. Again, on
her fifth CD, she weaves a delicate mix of jazz, classical and world music. This
time, the pieces are exceptionally nurtured and subtle. Time and again, this
is one harpist who avoids clichés; fluttering, pitter-pattering, and
especially soothing melodies summon up associations with nature and Indian,
Scandinavian and Japanese cultures. Between, one finds sonic miniatures with a
rather reflective character, such as "Inside", "Beginning" or "Wohin?". Reinhard
Ziegerhofer (b) and Franz Schmuck (perc) have already been heard on Stadler
recordings, this time we see the appearance of flutist Daniel Tschida and
Jon Sass on the tuba. The combination of harp with tuba not only sounds original,
but brings a rather relaxed extroverted note into the game. The outstanding sound
quality contributes a positive general impression.
